we have changed our name

After a decade in Cronulla as Cronulla Osteopathic Centre we’ve decided it’s time to change our name to better reflect our varied services.

As a multi-disciplinary clinic offering Osteopathy, Sports & Remedial Massage, Dry Needling, Exercise Physiology, Acupuncture/Traditional Chinese Medecine and Counselling & Kinesiology, we believe our new name better indicates our range of services and prepares us for the future.

We will continue to provide the friendly and professional service that you have come to expect under our new name - Biomechanics Healthcare and we look forward to your continued patronage in the future.

Biomechanics Healthcare’s highly qualified practitioners are focused on achieving the best possible outcome for each and every patient. You and your whole family will receive the best in allied health care. Your consultation will address your current symptoms, explore the underlying cause(s) and produce a manageable treatment plan.

We regularly consult with other health professionals when necessary including GP's, Podiatrists, Sports Physicians, Pilates and Personal Trainers to determine the best course of treatment for you.

All of our therapies (excluding Counselling & Kinesiology) are covered under Private Health Insurance.

Workcover is available for Osteopathy, Exercise Physiology & Remedial Massage.

Osteopathy and Exercise Physiology are also registered with the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) and Medicare (for qualifying patients only).

Rhys Donovan

Rhys Donovan ~ Owner of Biomechanics Healthcare | Osteopathy

B.App.Sc (Osteo), M.Osteo

Rhys is a local resident who first became interested in Osteopathy as a competitive cyclist & soccer player.  While his passion lies in treatment and prevention of sports injuries, his approach is not limited to this having successfully treated many other problems including joint and back pain, poor posture and headaches.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Osteopathy from the University of Western Sydney.  During his time at University he gained practical experience working as a massage therapist for several accomplished osteopaths.

He is a member of the Australian Osteopath Association, and the Osteopaths Registration Board.

His has a firm belief that people are in control of their own wellbeing, and enjoys working with them to achieve their goals.

 

John MamacanJohn Mamacan ~ Massage Therapy|Dry Needling
Diploma of Remedial Massage

John has worked as a massage therapist in Sydney for many years. In that time he has treated patients with a wide variety of complaints and has an excellent track record for successful treatment of 'problem' presentations that have not responded to previous treatment.

John treats conditions ranging from every day complaint such as back pain, neck pain and headaches through to complicated structural & functional problems. This is an ability which has enabled John to treat many high profile patients such is members of there Australian men's & women's hockey team, women's soccer team, netballers, sotballers, swimmers, international level triathlete & prominent NRL footballers. 

      Additional Skills: Myofacial Release, Facilitated Stretching, Trigger Point Therapy & Myofascial Dry Needling.


      Athletic Pursuits: Surf Life Saver, Triathlon, Surfing, Body boarding, Running, Swimming, Cycling, Resistance and Core Training.


      Membership Organizations: North Cronulla Surf Club, Cronulla Surf Club, Cronulla Sharks Swimming Club, Kurranulla Swimming Club.

Samantha’s former life in teaching and then working for Qantas as a flight attendant gave her the opportunity to study and dedicate her life to explore her interest in what makes people successful and live with passion. It is her belief that we need to deal with the core issues of what really holds us before we can really reach our true potential to live the life we dream.

Samantha has been working as a kinesiologist for 4 years. She also runs Art Therapy workshops. Finishing her studies at the College of Complimentary Medicine she also taught there as a tutor.

Samantha Perri ~ Exercise Physiology

B.App.Sci (Sport & Exercise) 

Samantha is a wholly qualified Accredited Exercise Physiologist. She graduated From the University of Western Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Sport and Exercise Science. She continues her passion in this field by currently studying a Masters degree inPhysiotherapy at Sydney University. Samantha is a trained Pilates Instructor, not to mention a qualified fitness instructor and continues to addto this growing list of credentials. She is a member of the Exercise and Sport Science Australia Association and is registeredwith medicare, workcover and all major health funds.

Her strength and passion involves a commitment to dealing with musculoskeletal injuries and lower back pain, furthermore, she is involved with cardiac, neurological, chronic disease and illness, posture and core strengthening and sports injury rehabilitation.

Samantha prides herself in helping others achieve their goals and delights in seeing her clients return to better heath and fitness.

icon_fundsHealth fund rebates are available with most of our services. If you are not sure of the level of your cover please call your health fund with the details of the practitioner you wish to claim treatments.

 

 

suncorp_bannerSuncorp Healthpoint processing is available for osteopathy & remedial/sports massage massage & treatments, so you can claim the health fund rebate immediately, allowing you to simply pay the difference. Currently exercise physiology isn't available however you can take your invoice to your health insurer or claim online to receive your rebate.

 Department of Veteran Affairs card holders may be entitled to have their osteopathic or exercise physiology treatments fully covered. Please contact your general medical practitioner for a referral. 

 

 

icon_medicareMedicare rebates for your osteopathic and exercise physiology consultations are available with a referral from your general medical practitioner under the “Enhanced Primary Care (EPC)” or "Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS)". Please note that this rebate is only for qualifying patients only and is not bulk billed. Currently the rebate is set at $51.95 for both osteopathy & exercise physiology.

Osteopathy, Exercise Physiology and Remedial massage treatments (with John only) are Workcover approved. All you need is approval from your G.P & a claim number and we can begin.
